After studying Biomedical Engineering at the University of Iowa, Dr. Bohnenkamp received his M.D. from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Following his degree, he received a fellowship to specialize in hip and knee arthroplasty and revision surgeries. He has performed thousands of hip and knee procedures, but what truly sets him apart is the care he takes with each one of his patients.

As Dr. Bohnenkamp’s physician assistant, Michael conducts patient exams, provides in-office treatments for symptom management and assists during surgery. He is highly experienced in all aspects of pre-operative and post-operative care. Prior to his work with Dr. Bohnenkamp, Michael served as a physician assistant at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago. He earned a master’s degree from Indiana State University.

Sandra oversees the day-to-day clinical management for Dr. Bohnenkamp. In her years of experience working with patients, she is knowledgeable of protocols and expectations while being efficient in preparing for upcoming clinics. Sandra is a certified athletic trainer, receiving her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Delta State University and Master of Arts in Health, Wellness and Human Performance from Morehead State University.

Lynette collaborates with patients, hospitals and surgery centers to schedule treatment. She also works with primary care physicians and insurance companies to ensure that all approvals are in place. Before joining Dr. Bohnenkamp’s team, Lynette worked in the insurance industry and at OrthoIllinois in Crystal Lake.

Had my right hip replaced about 6 years ago, and have had nothing but problems with it. Pain, Instability, Weakness...I kept going back to that doctor telling him something was wrong, to no avail. I found Dr Bohnenkamp by chance and am SO GRATEFUL. He revised this hip, and now only about 2 months after surgery, I am better than ever before. Pain - GONE, Instability - GONE, I feel more confident and healthy. I have therapy to work on the limp I developed because the other one was so faulty. After I was told by another orthopedic physician that I was not a candidate for hip surgery due to some medical challenges that would make it a difficult surgery for me, a friend referred me to Dr.Bohnenkamp.
